Jakub Novoný graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at the Prague University of Economics (2001) with a minor in the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. He then completed his doctoral studies in Applied Informatics at the same university. From 2005, he worked at the Polytechnic University of Jihlava, first as an academic staff member, then as head of department, and from 2010 to 2014 as rector. At the end of 2015, he joined the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he has been the director of the Telč Center (CET) since January 2016. He is involved in the development of the CET research infrastructure and participates in research projects in the field of heritage science.
